Hello! I'm Katsu, the founder and lead photographer of Sydney Creative Photography.
After moving from Kyoto, Japan, I opened my little photography studio in the heart of Surry Hills in 1996.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have turned this passion into a profession, capturing meaningful moments and creating lasting memories for my clients.
Today, I’m supported by a small yet exceptionally talented team of event photographers and videographers who share my enthusiasm for storytelling through imagery.
Each team member was carefully selected by me—a process that took years to perfect—to ensure their style, expertise, and client-focused approach align with the values of

Katsu began his photography career in the mid-1990s, working with film cameras. Over 25 years ago, he made a strategic move from Kyoto, Japan, to Sydney, Australia, immersing himself in the professional photography industry.
Since then, Katsu and his dedicated team have become seasoned experts in
event photography and videography, amassing over 25 years of experience in Sydney. They've gathered extensive knowledge in both wedding and event photography in Sydney.
Combining his creative talent with technical skills, Katsu has earned respect from both clients and the industry. He humbly attributes his diverse Japanese background to shaping his well-rounded approach, which fortifies our commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to all our clients.
